This will have been covered in the CBT, probably when they were talking about making progress.
For test purposes, it is not illegal to pass slow or stationary vehicles as long as you do not cross any double white lines, single solid and single dashed lines when the solid is on your side of the carriageway, any zigzags that appear next to crossings, any enclosed areas with crosshatching in when enclosed by a solid white line or any enclosed areas that you do not have an exit from (rejoining the flow of traffic). You cannot pass if, by doing so, you cause oncoming traffic to slow or avoid you, or cause the traffic that you are passing to have to take avoiding action.
For the test it is good practice to pull in behind the first car in a queue (ie do not go right to the front of the queue); and only do it when you can see that you have somewhere to pull in – so do not try to pass a whole queue in one go, pass a few cars, perform lifesaver and pull in then perform another lifesaver indicate and pass a few more cars (this is more about showing the inspector that you know how to act responsibly with other roadusers.
only where no passing is marked really i bet if you was to go to your city name and dmv or what ever you cal it they would have answers to your question online type like
uk bike laws
is it fcuk ! really annoys to see people on bikes sat in a queue of traffic, just do it safely and a sharp eye out for bike haters .
